Administrative Assistant:

Seeking an Administrative Assistant who is responsible to assist senior management staff in their administrative duties, and will work closely with the Executive Assistant/HR Generalist for the development, implementation and administration of the SBHF Human Resources and health care administration functions.

This position will be responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties on a professional level in the following areas: employee relations, recruiting, and clerical needs related to health care administration.

We work in a fast paced, challenging, and rewarding environment and strive to provide a high level of service to our customers. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently on the job, cooperate with senior management, and other clinic personnel. Displaying awareness of the needs of the served population, and how the services performed impact the perception of the clinic and the profession in the eyes of the public is vital.

The administrative assistant must possess significant experience with computer programs including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Adobe, be bilingual in Spanish and English, possess knowledge of human resources, business, and health care management principles.

The Family Practice Physician provides comprehensive primary care to all patients seeking care. He or she will provide community based primary care as part of a patient centered medical home team. Physician will provide diagnosis and treatment of health center patients within the scope of his/her license to practice medicine. Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities and achieves productivity goals.

Medical degree (M.D.) and completed residency in either Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Must have at least one year of experience. Licensed to practice in State of California; Must be board eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicine; board certification is highly desirable. Current DEA license and CPR certification. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.  (Maintains CME/credentialing/licensure in compliance with state and board requirements). Passion to work with the under-served community.

Dentist

San Benito Health Foundation is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Hollister, California, that provides medical, behavioral health and dental visits/year to the residents of San Benito County. Essential Duties:

  • Provides professional dental services to patients, in the conformity with clinic protocols and the code of ethics of California Dental Association.
  • Examines, diagnoses and develops a plan of treatment for patients.
  • Provides immediate treatment of dental emergencies.
  • Provides local anesthesia as necessary prior to dental treatment.
  • Performs prophylaxis ,scaling, sub-gingival curettage, root planning and oral hygiene instruction.
  • Prescribes medication as necessary.
  • Records patient-dentist transactions in dental records; completes referrals, data collection and other records as my be required.
  • Fully participate in the adoption, implementation and ongoing utilization of EHR.

Qualifications:

Health Educator

Great opportunity for a motivated health educator looking to make a difference at the community level, and work with a team in an outpatient setting to a multicultural patient population and help patients to achieve the best level of wellness.

The position requires extensive experience working in a community health setting providing health education to low-income minorities in a multi-cultural setting. The Health Educator is responsible for the provision of health and wellness education and advocacy for health care and facilitation of access into the health care system for members of the community served by SBHF. Other duties: Evaluates, designs, presents, recommends and disseminates high quality, culturally appropriate health education information / materials; Coordinates a wide range of health education services, including establishing effective referral and publicity systems, monitoring quality, and facilitating use of the community services to promote the delivery of cost-effective health education. Educator will assist in implementing the Rural Outreach Project to members of the isolated rural community.

The Health Educator must possess a BA/BS in health education, public health, nutrition or a related field. Minimum of 2 years work experience in health and wellness field.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of health behavior change theories and their application. A working knowledge of motivational strategies, materials development, and training is required. Bilingual in Spanish/English is required.

Registered Dietitian

This is a great opportunity for entry-level Registered Dietitians looking to make a difference at the community level. Our Registered Dietitians work in an outpatient setting alongside the medical and WIC team to provide counseling services for the prevention and management of chronic diseases, nutrition education across the lifespan, and referrals to other community resources as needed.

The Registered Dietitian serves as a case manager to our patients with chronic conditions. The Registered Dietitian works closely with the patients to develop an individualized plan of care, centered on behavioral changes for developing a healthy lifestyle and coordinating care within and outside of the clinic. Areas of focus include reducing rates of uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

Within the WIC department, the Registered Dietitian oversees the nutritional component of the program. The duties will entail nutrition assessments and subsequent education and counseling of pregnant, lactating, postpartum women, infants, and children from birth to five (5) years of age; coordinating the topics for individual and group nutrition education; and assessing nutritional need for therapeutic formulas.

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Registered Dietitian
-Active registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
2. RD Eligible
-Completion of an accredited dietetic internship
-Must pass RD exam and possess active registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration within 6 months of hire

Performs patient testing as directed and with appropriate supervision, including blood draws, Hematocrit (HCT), Human Choriona Gonadotripin (HCG), Liver, Lipid, Liver, A1c, Lead, tuberculosis (PPD), urinalysis, Strep Throat, cholesterol and glucose screens. Perform digital x-rays and panoramic accordingly using the EHR system. Assists in education of patients in care of teeth. Provides other clinical assistance as directed.
