Registered Dietitian

This is a great opportunity for entry-level Registered Dietitians looking to make a difference at the community level. Our Registered Dietitians work in an outpatient setting alongside the medical and WIC team to provide counseling services for the prevention and management of chronic diseases, nutrition education across the lifespan, and referrals to other community resources as needed.

The Registered Dietitian serves as a case manager to our patients with chronic conditions. The Registered Dietitian works closely with the patients to develop an individualized plan of care, centered on behavioral changes for developing a healthy lifestyle and coordinating care within and outside of the clinic. Areas of focus include reducing rates of uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

Within the WIC department, the Registered Dietitian oversees the nutritional component of the program. The duties will entail nutrition assessments and subsequent education and counseling of pregnant, lactating, postpartum women, infants, and children from birth to five (5) years of age; coordinating the topics for individual and group nutrition education; and assessing nutritional need for therapeutic formulas.

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Registered Dietitian
-Active registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
2. RD Eligible
-Completion of an accredited dietetic internship
-Must pass RD exam and possess active registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration within 6 months of hire

The dental assistant is a vital part of the Patient Centered Health Home model. Along with the dental team, he or she will provide preventive dental care and is crossed trained through the various departments to offer optimal service to our patient population.

Dental Assistant is a full-time position responsible for assisting the dentist and dental hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients of the center. The Dental Assistant is also responsible for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies. As well as, preparing patients for oral examination, assisting in providing treatment, all aspects of chair-side assisting, documenting in the Electric Health Records System (EHR), preforming digital x-rays and panoramic using the EHR system, assisting Hygienist, and other duties assigned.

Provide direct dental care, which includes exam and diagnosis, x-ray, placements and restoration, teeth extractions, and root canal therapy.

Dentist is a full-time, exempt position that provides professional dental services to patients, in the conformity with clinic protocols and the code of ethics of California Dental Association. Dentist is also responsible for providing immediate treatment of dental emergencies, examines, diagnoses and develops a plan of treatment for patients, provides local anesthesia as necessary prior to dental treatment, performs prophylaxis, scaling, sub-gingival curettage, root planning and oral hygiene instruction, prescribes medication as necessary, records patient-dentist transactions in dental records; completes referrals, data collection and other records as may be required, and Saturday clinic rotations.

This includes an understanding of the application of the theory and practices of the profession to the operations of the organization, usually in the form of a major in public health (or equivalent) as part of a Master’s Degree (or other applicable extended training program).

Educator will assist in implementing the Rural Outreach Project to members of the isolated rural community.

The Health Educator must possess a BA/BS in health education, public health, nutrition or a related field. Experience in health and wellness field preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of health behavior change theories and their application. A working knowledge of motivational strategies, materials development, and training is required. Bilingual in Spanish/English is required.
